Required Skills and Experience:
There is an opportunity for a highly skilled Service Designer who is passionate about business enablement and can meet the criteria outlined below to contribute to the development of high-quality services for (NSW) government.
The Service Designer will have the following abilities, skills, and experience
Mandatory
- 5+ years experience as Service Designer.
- Keeping across changing technologies, business processes and industry best practices.
- Ability to achieve successful outcomes through collaborative and cooperative means.
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the project, its environments, and related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work within tight project timeframes.
Preferred:
- Experience working in the Government sector.
- Previous experience with other Justice Sector Agencies.
- Qualifications in a relevant area and/ or demonstrated professional experience in an equivalent role.
- Previous experience with software integration or application development within a large enterprise environment.
The Service Designer will have the following responsibilities:
- Design and develop accessible, easy to use and supportable digital products and services.
- Collaborate with teams remotely and in person across NSW to deliver strategic digital transformation project outcomes.
- Facilitate the product vision and roadmap by conceptualising, designing and testing intuitive user experiences and service provision in line with management methodology to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
- Develop a deep understanding of the customer to enable a data driven humancentered design approach for complex problems, including journey mapping and persona profiling.
- Apply strategies and tools for continuous improvement in customer experience, user experience and user interface design.
- Ensure digital accessibility for customers by applying best practice methodologies and industry recognised systems, processes and guidelines.
- Lead and connect all parties involved in the User Experience and Service Design, including content planners, developers, business units and stakeholders to ensure outcomes are being met, conducting rituals, workshops and meetings when required.
- Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout the project and project deliverables are met.
- Manage complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.
- Achieve multiple project objectives, given limited resources and tight deadlines, and identify project interdependencies and balance competing demands and priorities.
- Work with ambiguity and unexpected changes in direction.
